Hastelloy X Flanges are necessary to attach piping sub-assemblies to pressure vessels, valves, pumps or other devices. Flanges are forged or cast rings of steel, designed to join two sections of piping together by bolting. A highlight of Hastelloy X flanges is that they exhibit excellent strength at high temperature as well as have good resistance to oxidation. The high content of chromium in the alloy aids in resistance against oxidation corrosion, whereas the higher content of nickel used to manufacture the Alloy X Flange in accordance with ASTM B564 specification results in the alloy inheriting its heat resistance properties. All of the product forms, including the Hastelloy X Flanges, are excellent in terms of forming and welding. Although Alloy X is primarily known for its ability to resist both heat and oxidation, these flanges also have good resistance to chloride stress related corrosion cracking.

The Applications of Hastelloy X Flanges
The Hastelloy X Flanges are used in Petro-Chemical Industry, Oil and Gas Industry, Nuclear Industry, Pulp & Paper Industry, Research & Development, Mega Projects & Defense & Development Industries. In fact wing to the special grade of steel, they are used for all critical applications.
X alloy has wide use in gas turbine engines for combustion zone components such as transition ducts, combustor cans, spray bars and flame holders as well as in afterburners, tailpipes and cabin heaters. It is recommended for use in industrial furnace applications because it has unusual resistant to oxidizing, reducing and neutral atmospheres. Furnace rolls of this alloy were still in good condition after operating for 8,700 hours at 2150°F (1177°C). Hastelloy X alloy is also used in the chemical process industry for retorts, muffles, catalyst support grids, furnace baffles, tubing for pyrolysis operations and flash drier components.
